Hello, everyone. Happy spring! If you live in New York, this is a statement of faith since we frequently get snow in May. But on a happier note, yesterday my husband and I watched the instalment of The Chosen where Jesus lays into the money changers at the temple. Wow. This part of the gospel was never portrayed in such bold fashion.
Classical paintings of the scene show the Lord pushing a few guys out of the way. Angel Studios had a very different take. Jesus went nuts on the cheaters, whipping down every kiosk and making sure not one of them got away with their ill-gotten gains. Given the crass materialism of our current era, I love the interpretation.
The series is controversial because it fills in many gaps in the Biblical text, for example, inventing characters who are never mentioned in Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Detractors are afraid of adding to the inspired word of God. But the writers’ vision for the project is to re-create the setting and to flesh-out plausible scenarios around the inspired text. Anyway, as a person who loves the Word of God with all my heart, I heartily endorse The Chosen. Go see it!
On my book front, still looking for an agent for (working title) The Light Within. I would appreciate prayers for this. An agent is the best way forward for me at this time.
This month, I have attached an article I wrote that was published in a book called Right Here, Right Now, The Buffalo Anthology, editor Jody K. Biehl. I hope you enjoy it.
Warm regards,
